The Company

Technical Innovations was founded in 1993 but its employees have decades of experience in the medical device industry. This extensive knowledge and experience results in innovative products and services ranging from hole-making drills, punches and skivers to complete hole making systems and contract hole-making services.

TI cutting tools and hole-making equipment are being used worldwide to put precise holes in catheters, tubing, devices and other elastomers. TI cutters are also increasingly being used for tissue-cutting procedures.

TI recently expanded its facilities to accommodate the growing demand for its products and to offer contract hole-making services.

Punches, Drills & Skivers

TI offers a wide array of core drills and punches made from 304 stainless steel cannula and 17-4 ph stainless steel. Certain applications may require additional hardness provided by titanium nitride coating or alternative alloys such as 440C or 465 stainless steel.

TI cutting tools are manufactured in over 1000 diameters, shapes, lengths and tip styles. Shapes vary from round (.005" and larger) to oval, square and triangles. Tip styles differ by placement of the cutting edge at or near the outside diameter, the inside diameter or near the center of the cutting edge wall.

Tissue Cutters

TI cutting tools are extremely precise and reliable for tissue cutting and coring procedures. Over 40 percent of the cutters sold by TI last year were used for tissue cutting. Procedures include coronary bypass, tissue sampling and removal, cartilage and corneal harvesting, biopsies and hair transplants.

Hole-Making Machines and Systems

TI hole-making equipment ranges from hand held devices to manual and pneumatic drilling, punching and skiving machines to fully automated, computer-controlled three and four axis hole-making systems. These machines are used for R & D, prototyping and low and high volume production of commodity and specialty medical devices. Adding real time videos, plug detection/counting systems and lumen locating sensors, can enhance the automated systems.

Contract Hole Making

TI occupies a unique niche in hole-making technology and customers can benefit from this knowledge and experience through TI's contract hole-making services. TI will design the hole-making equipment, determine the optimal cutting tools and process products to your specifications. TI's decades of experience in catheters, medical devices and hole-making technologies give customers a reliable option for outsourcing complex, high volume or special purpose devices.
